ADIB-Egypt wins 2 awards for digital banking transformation from Global Finance
Cairo - August 26, 2020 – Today, ADIB-Egypt announced its win of 2 prestigious awards from the world-renowned business and banking publication: Global Finance. The awards which were received under the Best Consumer Digital Banks category, recognized the bank for the Best Bill Payment and Best Social Media Marketing and Services, reflecting the impressive digital transformation that ADIB-Egypt has undertaken in recent months.
The award marks the first round of country-level winners for the Best Digital Bank 2020 Awards and is considered a benchmark for digital banking both regionally and globally.
Over the past year, ADIB-Egypt has taken significant strides towards developing their digital banking services portfolio. Since the Coronavirus first emerged in early 2020, ADIB-Egypt has taken significant steps to accelerate this process, to meet the growing digital needs of customers. Focusing on the use of cutting-edge technology and enhanced customer experiences, most recently, the bank introduced a number of online services and smartphone applications to help streamline banking processes, whilst also incorporating social media platforms into its marketing strategy, to help engage with a wider customer base.

Digital transformation across the banking sector has accelerated rapidly in recent months, as customers look to banks to provide them with enhanced real time services and paperless transactions, that support the new realities brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic. “As a leader in the sector, we understand the growing importance of digital services in the banking industry. Over the last year, we have worked extensively, to enhance our digital banking solutions, with a focus on creating customer-centric services and products, that allow corporate and individual customers to handle their accounts easily and securely,” Mr. Aly continued.
Mr. Aly, also thanked the ADIB-Egypt team for their exceptional dedication to the bank, highlighting the important role that the team had played in allowing for the transformation to take place both quickly and seamlessly.
Since its digital transformation, ADIB-Egypt has successfully expanded its digital banking portfolio, offering a wide range of services and products include inquiry on current and saving accounts and balances and transactions, access to monthly or quarterly e-statements, transfer between accounts or to other banks (inside or outside of Egypt), set scheduled and recurring transactions, and managing lists of external transactions for beneficiaries. The bank also offers e-payment services that allow customers to pay their bills, donate money, set automatic payments, book flight tickets, and renew their car license.
The latest win marks ADIB-Egypt’s fourth win of the year, with the bank already receiving Best Islamic Financial Institution in Egypt 2020 from Global Finance Magazine, Best Islamic Bank 2020 from The Banker Magazine and Best Islamic Bank 2020 from World Finance News.
